getting this error message(s) when I try to do a Send Test:
ERROR IN MODULE: HTML_Newsletter
ERROR MSG: Could not find testemail.php file
Running phpNuke 8.1.
Any idea on how I fix this? I've tried poking around the forum here, but I can't seem to find a similar issue. |

Strange, I cannot find that file in the RavenNuke Distro which has HTML Newsletter bundled with it.
I suspect it may be created on-the-fly in which case it is likely a directory permission problem but lets try and find out.
I know Montego will have the answer straight away but until then, if you could tell me what page you are on (url) before you get the error, I can try and replicate it. |

Guardian is spot on! Thanks "G".
BTW, it is also stated that the HTML Newsletter is supported on 6.5 - 7.6 (including RavenNuke) only. So, I/we will help out where possible, but there may be cases where we cannot help. |

I get this error too, if I after testsending a newsletter tries to send a second newsletter. It seems that one can only testsend a newsletter once, which might be a drawback in certain situations. |

This has always worked just fine for me in both situations, therefore, I am convinced it is an issue with permissions and I think these are separate issues as well as could be differences in hosting environments.
KASR, please check the permissions on your archives directory and make sure it is writable.
Slackervaara, after you test send a newsletter, please check the permissions on the testemail.php file and let me know what they are. I have a feeling that the chmod command is failing in your environment. |

Ok, my apologies as I have messed this up a bit. I have split out your thread Slackervaara into a separate thread here:
http://montegoscripts.com/ftopict-283.html
I'd like to keep this thread here devoted to KASR's specific issue. |

KASR,
Have not heard back from you as to whether fixing the directory permissions has helped or not. Hopefully so... |
