Sending newsletter

I would like to know if there is a problem to use this module to send newsletter to a community of 25 000 members ?? is there a problem with a time out or with the internet provider ??

Yes, the current newsletter module will have difficulties sending a newsletter to that many members. It is best used for around 500 or less due to the PHP timeout setting. If you somehow have control over that timeout setting, then you could potentially send this to as many members as you wish. HOwever, I have also seen web hosts frown upon that and even restrict that kind of mass send.

I would suggest using an outside mailing list tool which specializes in mass mailings of this type (you also do not want to get blacklisted as a spammer). If you can find a mailing list that you can submit your newsletter too via an email, then the ad-hoc send feature of this module could be used for that.

Yes I have acces to all on my server because it's a dedicate server on a hosteur...

You think it's better to use an external script so ?

You could try to do this yourself by increasing your PHP timeout setting. It is usually set to around 3 - 5 minutes. Depending on your server and mail overhead, that could be anywhere from 500 - 2000 emails. But, also be careful that your host will not see this as either your server has been compromised or that you are a spammer.

I mention the external mailer just as a suggestion as it is their business to do such things for mass mailings, and, so, may be better suited for this. But, that is just a suggestion. You must decide the best option for you.
