I'm not sure what I have done wrong, but I get no entries in my newsletters for Latest Forum Posts . I have tried changing the amount from 1-5 latest entries.
All other latest news, downloads etc. work ok....
Where should I check?
Great addition to my ravennuke installation! When is 1.3 out?
Cheers

Duncan, both Guardian and I have installed this on RavenNuke76 with no problems. Would you please PM me your website address so I can take a look at your forums? Are they all hidden to registered only by chance? |

Sorry, forgot about this question. It is ready, but I waiting a few more days to see if we can get WYSIWYG editor support too. Regardless, though, I will release it next week some time. |

Yes, I am using Registered Access ONLY forums. Is this the problem?
Do you still want me to PM you and create an account with permissions for you?
Sorry for the delay - I've been at work today
Good news that 1.3 will be released soon!

I think that would be your problem right there.
HNL by default only includes forums that are open to visitors. |

Thanks for your reply...
Is there any way to get it to show these Registered ONLY forum latest threads?
What confused me is that the downloads section is for Registered ONLY but it HNL still lists them. I guess they work differently!

Yes, that is definitely the issue. The problem I struggle with is that forums, downloads, etc. can change at any time to be registered only to all, to with NSN Groups, etc.... The newsletters are a snap-shot in time. I will have to look into being more consistent with the registered vs. non in a future release. For right now, it is as you have stated.
I have never "tweaked" the logic from the original author's 1.0 version for what is being pulled, but it looks like I may have to look into re-writing that too...
Regards,

Duncan - As it stands at the moment, HNL will reproduce the 'subject' of a forum post into its newsletter. By having forum posts pulled in regardless of the permision on the site this may have undesired consequences.
Consider the following scenario.....
You have an admin or moderators forum and make a post with the subject 'Guardian is a pain in the ass' - if I was a registered user, I would then see this post 'subject' in the newsletter!!
Are you saying you would want these included in HNL or just al posts except those with admin/moderator only permissions? |

Hey - I see what you mean.... (about Guardian...... lol... I'm sure he's not!!!). I didn't really think it thru. I have a section on my site that is for the site team only. I wouldn't want the threads there to go out on a newsletter.
I suppose the best option for a future development would be some sort of check the boxes of which forums you wish to include in the newsletter.
I don't know the practicalities of that tho? Probably a knightmare!
Cheers

All good thoughts! Thanks! Will take those into serious consideration including the points about Guardian being a pain in the ass! ROTFLMAO! |
