I hope to release this block today in its first Beta form. Here is a short-list of features being release:
1) Uses Twitter API's to get the user's timeline to refresh the block cache.
2) Caches block HTML in nuke_blocks for better performance.
3) Cached block content is used so that search engine spiders will crawl the produced time-line.
4) Numerous configuration options and more will be created with each release.
AJAX update of the user time-line in near "real time" is planned for the final release of 1.0.0. |

Sounds good. I appreciate and and all feedback. I may not incorporate all, but that doesn't me I do not appreciate it. More feedback the better... |

I'll try and get this installed by the weekend
Just a quickie though, are you caching a copy of a given twitter accounts full XML file or just caching the last xx bits of data? |

Only the number of tweets that you elect to show within the configuration settings. I believe the default is 8 right now. |

I tried to use an twitter account with an underscore. This is replaced by %20 (space), and ofcourse this won't work. |

@ M around line 210 / 334 in the Class there is a rawurlencode in the timeline and 'friend' link building. It's possible this isn't the issue but just trying to save you some time. |

I'll have to dig further I am afraid, as the PHP manual rawurlencode isn't suppose to change either of "-" or "_".

I found a user who had an underscore in their screen name and it worked just fine. Are you sure that you have both the screen name and your id correct?
Maybe PM me both of these so that I can give it a try locally? |

Ok, I am here again to report the problems after testing the block.
I found out if I put the twitter block on the right or left side then it doesnt show, maybe javascript conflict. I wanna know why it is happening that.
How to find your ID from twitter?
http://help.twitter.com/entries/15360-how-to-find-your-user-id
Maybe Montego forgot to say. I dont know but I couldnt find my id on my twitter account until I read this tutorial from the site above.
Congratulation montego. it looks very nice the block. Thanks.
you can see the block here www.bestbuildpc.com |

I don't know if it is the cause but you have two JS on.document.ready functions. Try disabling the live chat and see if that helps. |

hicux, thank you for the nice link. I shall include that in the instructions next time. I didn't provide any assistance there. It had been so long since I had found mine that I didn't remember how difficult it was.
BTW guys, there is NO javascript in this thing yet, so you can rule out anything javascript related in your thinking. I am using this block on the right-hand side, so I can't see why it would not work on your site? What do you mean by "it doesn't show"? Can you expound a bit please? Do any of your blocks underneath and above it still show? What about the footer? |
