Does anyone know if there is a good block that allows users subscribe or remove there subscription to the HTML Newsletters from say the home page ?

I donīt think it exist, but it would be very useful to have such a block. |

Ive found an old one, and i mean old but it needs updating to a newer version...

Yeah, I fully intend to getting back to HNL development soon. I had started 1.4 awhile back, but got sidetracked. I'd be glad to add such a block to 1.4 but I know that is not soon enough for you. Sorry.
I actually wanted to do something more akin to a mailing list add-on though rather than use just the YA version. |

Well I was just looking for a easy way for people to subscribe to the newsletters without going and modifying there account details...
I know its not hard to modify your account, but people are lazy, if there was a button/block on home page to subscribe to newsletter and the site was good... it would be quick and simple to do.
Maybe write a function so people can place it where ever they want to display a "Subscribe" or "Unsubscribe" to newsletters where ever they want to display it... header, footer... i dont know!?!
This block ive got works, but the code is v old and none compliant |

Yes, that should be possible and similar to what I've done with the RavenNuke Legal module menu... can be placed anywhere with a simple line of code:
