Yes, it is working perfectly now, but I have modified it somewhat. I only have one line with:
$query = rawurlencode($query);
and that is enough

And at the end of the file on line 448 I have added:
$query = rawurldecode($query);
This to avoid the query word to appear as encoded in the end of the search page.
