It has been difficult to the find the time this Holidays to work on version 1.3 of the HTML Newsletter add-on for PHP-Nuke, but it is nearing completion. This release was a large re-write of the underlying code to setup for the next major version (2.0) with a whole slew of new features planned. I needed to ensure the underlying code and structure was to my liking (since I took this project over from 1.1 on). Here are just a few things coming with 1.3:
- Added a better error messaging system and now trap errors on almost ever database call, file system call, etc.
- Every administration screen now has pop-up help
- Every administration screen and the Archives module screen are now 100% W3C Strict compliant.
- Added the ability to enter in an ad-hoc list of email addresses to send the newsletter to
- Also am in the process of adding on-line documentation in the form of a Wiki so that multiple contributors can work on the docs at the same time.
- Fixed a few left-over minor bugs from version 1.2 and below.
In addition, it is anticipated that version 1.3 will be included with a future 2.x version of RavenNuke76.
