A few bugs were reported since the release of version 1.1.2 that we wanted to clean up quickly, hence this very small patch release. Since this is just a patch release, it is a simple matter of uploading a few scripts and an image. But, please read the README.txt and UPGRADES.txt as always and it will guide you through this quick patch fix. In addition, as always, the CHANGELOG.txt file will list out exactly which files were added/modified/removed.

Patch Released for TegoNuke(tm) Downloads (NSNGD) 1.1.1!

A few bugs were reported since the release of version 1.1.0 that we wanted to clean up quickly, hence this very small patch release. Since this is just a patch release, it is a simple matter of uploading a few scripts and an image. But, please read the README.txt and UPGRADES.txt as always and it will guide you through this quick patch fix.
Also, ALL releases, whether patches or not, are complete package downloads. So, version 1.1.1 now supercedes 1.1.0 as the latest-and-greatest release.
Special thanks go out to papamike of PapaMike Creations for reporting the issue with the anti-leaching where a few browsers were not able to download and for a new module logo image. The new image is named down-logo.png and can be overwritten via themes by using an image by that name within the theme's images directory.

TegoNuke(tm) Downloads (NSNGD) 1.1.0

This module was original brought to the community long back by Bob Marion of NukeScripts Network. This initial release from Montego Scripts has all of the great features from the original module, but with some known bugs fixed, full XHTML compliance, and a few security tweaks, such as anti-leaching right out-of-the-box.
For a more detailed explanation of the TegoNuke(tm) Downloads module and a more detailed list of features, check out the TegoNuke(tm) Downloads Wiki page.
While this module was developed on RavenNuke(tm) for RavenNuke(tm), it may be possible to use on other *nuke variants with slight variations. Come get the latest download.

Downloads Module Update

by montego
Just a quick note that work on the TegoNuke™/NSN Group Downloads module is progressing nicely as the road-map shows. Just cleaning up some "extras" such as ShortLinks and then it will be on to the last job to tackle which is the installer for new and existing installations. The installer updates are going to be a bit more complex than usual as with this release of the module, there are also character set considerations and some other data conversions. The schema for this module has not changed in this major release, but several key enhancements have data conversion considerations:
- 0000378: Add support for nukeWYSIWYG - The older module retained line endings in the data that were later expanded into <br> tags for display. With the addition of advanced editor support and in the spirit of giving the site admins full control over the final HTML in the download description (within the constraints, of course, of the HTML tag filtering in *nuke), the data needs to have these line endings converted and stored back into the database.
- 0000070: Conversion of EOL characters to BR tags in getit.php Will Cause Compliance Issues - Goes along with the one above.
- 0000481: Remove mixed case Extensions as only lower case pattern is needed - Since this is file extensions we're talking about here, it really makes no sense to retain mixed case extensions. All comparisons to the pattern will be checked to lower case and all the data will be converted to be just the lower case version with duplicates removed.
- 0000057: Case issue with file extensions with numbers - Goes along with the one above this. It was this issue which led to the thinking about removing mixed case anyways.
- 0000496: Remove support for FTP protocol - We are no longer supporting the FTP protocol in the module. While no data conversions will be made, we will be reporting back to the admin where they have these in use and suggest that they modify them.
While progress is slow-and-steady, we still hope to release this important foundational new release - the first new release of this module in over five years since the original author released his last version - in the month of March or latest April. So, stay tuned. You may also get more frequent updates on progress by following us on Twitter - see time-line and follow link to the right on the home page.

TegoNuke/NSNGD Downloads Coming Along Nicely
Posted on Saturday, February 05, 2011 @ 15:45:37 EST in TegoNuke Downloads
by montego
I have been communicating development status of the TegoNuke™/NSN Group Downloads module off-and-on via Twitter and other social networks, but figured it was time to communicate something more substantial here as news. Although the official roadmap does not look like I've made much progress, it could not be farther from the truth. Massive amounts of code have changed to tighten up security, complete the XHTML work, reduce SQL calls, etc., in fashion as any good RavenNuke™ consumer has come to expect. Of course, other real bugs too have been squashed with more found, logged and to be fixed.
The final 1.1.0 release, while not cosmetically changed, will have some key changes:
- Obviously the already mentioned security, XHTML and other corrections
- Deprecated PHP functions (e.g., the "ereg" class of regular expression checks / replacements) replaced
- Anti-leaching
- CSRF protection for RavenNuke™ sites
- nukeWYSIWYG™ support, which is also already in RavenNuke™
- Along with nukeWYSIWYG, the fixing of the raw descriptive data to be XHTML compliant
- UTF-8 compliant
Sound good? Hope the community will like it and get interested in this project again. Still a lot of work to do, so no date to be set yet, but keep watch on the road map and/or change log.
Regards,
montego
