| HTML Newsletter Version 1.4 in Development |
|
Just wanted to let everyone know that I have completed the planning phase of version 1.4.0 of the HTML Newsletter, the last release within the 1.x branch, hopefully prior to the February 8th PHP5 deadline! Here is a preview of some of the improvements planned (subject to change based on time constraints):
- Improve upon data escaping/encoding and XHTML compliance, quoting and formatting (applying lessons learned from RavenNuke(tm) development.
- Add integration to TegoNuke(tm) Mailer (an advanced mailer that I added to the upcoming RavenNuke(tm) 2.2.0 release)
- Add Ability to Change Sender Email Address
- Add Ability to Remove Forum Topics From the List
- Add Ability to Configure Show/Hide Hits on Articles
- Add Editor Support for Nuke 7.7+ (a "maybe")
- Provide Link to Newsletter if Mail Client Cannot Display HTML (and possibly utilize TegoNuke(tm) Mailer's ability to send multi-format emails, i.e., both text and HTML)
- Allow Ability for Admin to Set Email Priority Prior to Send
- Add Ability to Change the Addy for the FROM Address
- Add Support for Large Nbr Recipients (only if have time, as it might be more suited for my planned complete re-write under PHP5)
- Add Ability to Save Newsletter Drafts (only if have time, and this also implies changing over to store the newsletters in the database rather than on the file system - reduces security risk)
- And, last, but certainly not least, a few bug fixes along the way.
Hopefully this list has some items in it that the community will find useful. I can tell you that my 2.0 re-write list is 20x larger! |

Keep up the great work |
